Sophisticated equipment

By investing in up-to-date equipment, CUSB seeks to enhance the quality of teaching and reinforce its position as a leader in the training of bilingual professionals.

Students and faculty from all programs and in all departments will benefit from this aspect of the VISION campaign.

Type of equipment and who will benefit

Thanks to the VISION campaign, several sectors of CUSB will be able to acquire state-of-the-art equipment.

For example, the Department of Geography needs equipment to digitize photographic slides, and an optical scanner. The Department of Psychology hopes to acquire statistical software and banks of psychological tests and to update the computer capacity in its laboratories. Electronic maps and charts, as well as instructional DVDs will serve both the Departments of History and Sociology. The School of Translation will acquire booths for simultaneous interpretation. The Faculty of Science will invest in interactive whiteboards, clickers and trinocular microscopes. The Departments of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics would like new data analysis and processing software.

Update of the information management system

Beyond the acquisition of new equipment, an update is being planned of CUSB's information management system, which includes all the systems that handle student records, financial records and the administration of human resources. Part of the funds raised in the VISION campaign will go towards implementing this project, at a cost of up to a million dollars.
